Brilliant African Innovation Against COVID-19

Brilliant African Innovation Against COVID-19

An impact pitch competition to showcase and support African entrepreneurs who, in the last six weeks, have developed solutions to support Africa’s fight against the coronavirus.  Applicants are evaluated primarily on their impact against the virus and the viability of delivering the product or service. Financial sustainability is of secondary importance.

Entrepreneurs will “pitch” their ideas, and will be questioned by a judging panel comprised of a seasoned group of innovation investment experts. In addition, the webinar audience will judge each entrepreneur’s presentation and register their views through live polling.

The judging panel includes:

  • Juliet Ehimuan, Country Director, Google Nigeria
  • Andile Ngcaba, Founding Partner and Chairman, Convergence Partners
  • Eric Osiakwan, Managing Partner, Chanzo Capital
  • Adrian Vermooten, Head of Digital, Africa Regions, Standard Bank

The winner will receive:

  • $500 Cash Prize
  • Mentorship Session with a Harvard Business School Professor
  • Media Package valued at $5,000

Rules: Entrepreneurs are asked to present a product or service that will impact COVID-19.

The innovations against COVID-19 are broadly defined and may include sectors as varied as health, safety, medicine, technology, etc.

If your application is accepted, you will be invited to the next step in the process.
